Things to Do While Stuck at Home

March 20, 2020

Being under quarantine (or social distancing, if you aren’t under actual quarantine yet) can feel eternal. Although I am part of the population who is still going to work every day, I sympathize with the prospect of having my movements even more limited than they currently are. Luckily, we exist in the age of the Internet, and there are Many, Many ways to pass the time:

Firstly, of course, there are all seven of our currently released episodes (and more on the way).

Here is a list compiled by our marketing/web team at hasOptimization. It has everything from crafts, to streaming, to games, to educational resources, suggestions for home organization/upkeep, and virtual tours of museums and famous world sites.

Company Gallery is putting forward programming entitled “In Company With” that will stream on Instagram Live. Artists for the first week (beginning Monday, March 23rd) include: The Work of Barbara Hammer, Devin Morris, Joey de Jesus, and Jonathan Lyndon Chase among many others.

USA Today recommends finally finishing Infinite Jest or Ulysses on their list of 100 Things to While Stuck Inside During a Pandemic. As a bibliophile who hates both books, I am going to leave that up to you, but personally will definitely Not be doing that.

Buzzfeed is providing links to streaming artists.

Food52 staff tells us what they are up to from dusting every plant leaf, to cleaning out cupboards, and moisturizing cutting boards. As a Virgo Moon, I support these tasks.

I have ordered a bunch of new reading material if you need reading recommendations. And Audible just made hundreds of titles Free for the moment.

Of course, you don’t have to do ANY of these things. This is a time of uncertainty and anxiety for many of us. Take time to wallow and sleep, or pace around the house, or whatever helps you get through it. Stay safe, everyone.
